Abortion Views

Hey Bloggy Buddies! So Mr. Schick told us to blog after school each day after we have Human Geogrpahy about what we did during class. This Friday, we changed seats and then had an incredibly in depth conversation about the meaning of life. Haha. Just kidding. We talked to our friends while Mr. Schick looked at each of our blogs. Oh and we also took fun pictures on Ange's laptop! Overall, awesome way to end the day off and the week off. (Two weeks into high school... When did that happen!?!?) Anyway, since we really didn't have a main discussion topic in class, I figured I do another blog that's kind of like my last one. The "Here's my perspective on this" type. (If that's not what you were looking for Mr. Schick I'm sorry but... here are my views on abortion!) Enjoy! <3

DISCLAIMER: I'm going to start off by saying that these are my opinions and views on the act of aborting. Not whether or not I think it should be legal, or how limited or unlimited the rights to perform it should be.
Abortion. /əˈbôrSH(ə)n/ The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Basically, it is the ending of human life at a premature point of life. Underline ending of human. I am against any form or degree of abortion. I believe there is absolutely no reason to terminate human life. Although I do not agree with the Bible's view on gay marriage, I do agree with it's view on abortion.
Some people's justification for being "for" or "mutual" on the topic of abortion is rape. In the United States, about half of all pregnancies are unintended. About 2/10 of those unintended pregnancies are terminated by abortion (Approximately 21%). Whether unplanned due to an accidental event(s) or due to rape, many women see that the only solution is abortion. Although the pregnancy may seem like a burden to them, the child they hold within may not be a burden to a couple who can't have children and want to adopt. Though I don't believe children are at all related to or should be compared to trash, I think that the saying of "one man's trash is another man's treasure" relates perfectly to abortion. I believe that some blessings can be disguised as curses in the beginning. Even if a woman  is raped by someone other than her significant other, I believe she still has no right to kill her unborn child. A life is a life whether it's planned or unplanned. It doesn't matter whose DNA makes up the child because parents looking to adopt are blind to color, race or gender. I believe that even though a pregnancy, whether planned or unplanned, can be an encumbrance upon one, it can be a godsend to another.

I knew prior to writing this blog that my full opinion couldn't be completely expressed in one post. Since this is such a huge topic, I will most likely expand upon it once we have another situation like this one where we have a "free blog". (Or at least that's what I'll call it). I hope you all enjoyed. Stay tuned for another blog coming soon!

Your Pal,
Bren

    1. Yes, very much so actually! :) I'd LOVE to join Speech and Debate even if it means fighting against my own beliefs. Unfortunately theater is much too time consuming. :( Thank you though! I appreciate your feedback!

  2. BTW, when you say "About 4/10 of those unintended pregnancies are terminated by abortion (Approximately 21%)," which is the correct statistic? 21% would be 1/5, not 4/10.

    Just checking!
